I’m No Lone Ranger: Introducing My Support Team

Since I have started blasting fat from 322lbs down to my current weight of 268lbs I haven’t been doing it alone, I couldn’t have!

I believe in the fact that successful weight loss is sustained through outside support and community. If you are trying to lose fat, get fit, etc then I encourage you to form a support team that will keep you accountable and keep you making progress.

I would like to introduce you to my team that is behind me working just as hard;

My Wife

Susan has been awesome! Looking after our son full time is a challenging job, but Susan still wakes up at 5:30am Monday to Friday to prepare my lunch and then when I come home there is always a cooked meal on the table.

When I gave Susan a list of food back in January (08) containing all the foods that I may eat she really got into action. She bought health magazines & books, watched healthy cooking programs, surfed the internet and has really educated herself about diet and nutrition, which has now found it’s way into everything she cooks; not only for me but she is eating more healthy now too.

This is extremely important as my healthy eating is vital to my fat loss and muscle building success!

My Family

My family back in Scotland (we miss them soooooo much!) are so supportive of my fitness goals. Most of you can see my mum’s many comments, she is really encouraging. If it wasn’t for my mum Discipline or Regret wouldn’t be at all; as my mum picks up my internet bill every month, my current salary wouldn’t be able to afford a monthly internet bill.

My sister, Ruth as been awesome she’s responsible for me currently plodding my way through a Personal Trainer certification; that she paid for, including a stack of books to support my studying that were shipped in from Amazon.com.

My dad, has been great too; he introduced me to John Smith (ha ha) while we were in Scotland in June/July(08) and his words of encouragement as we talk with the webcam mean a lot, I miss him tones!

Iowa Avenue

I joined Iowa Avenue sometime at the beginning of July (08) and I feel like I have been there forever. It is such awesome community where I have had so much encouragement from people that are on the same journey as I am, and also there are many fitness professionals there that I have been able to rub digital shoulders with.

My Doctor(s)

Here in Surabaya (Indonesia) I always choose to go to visit a doctor that would be the same as international standards. This means not going to see a specific doctor but going to the International Hospital here and meeting the current doctor on duty. I go to see the doctor about once every two to three months to have my blood pressure and cholesterol levels checked. I have yet to get a blood test here; I have always waited until I have visit home to Scotland for a blood test.

Conclusion

If I tried to go this fat loss journey alone, I probably wouldn’t be as optimistic as I am now, and I could even have been included in the statistic of people that set out to live a healthier life without support; 3 months or less.

for me it’s a gaggle of accountability partners (none of whom are workout partners. Im a long rangertte there)

It’s very cool to have people who support you during this process. How is your back? I hope that you could go back to your routine. Right now it’s my time to back off a little bit, my leg still bug me so I decide to rest this week.

Lovely post today son; keep it up (or should that be down!!). I’ve joined the get fit thing too as my BP has been very high lately due to megga work pressures. I’ve lost 8.5 lbs in the 1st 3 weeks so am happy with that; also swim at 7.30am three times a week; YOU actually inspired me and I decided that if you can do it then so can I!!Love you millions, Mum

8.5lbs is good going, make sure that your sleeping well too (I know your a night owl), it’s very important, expecially for your BP.
