18th Weigh-in: 4lbs Down & 15 Inches Slashed!

measure 17aug08 new small 18th Weigh in: 4lbs Down & 15 Inches Slashed!

I am really excited about this weeks results, I have lost 4lbs! Ok since I beefed up a bit while in Scotland I forgot about measuring my waist and hips then I thought this morning I’ll give it a go.  To my surprise my waist measured in at 42 inches! When I started back in January (08) my waist was 57 inches, so I have slashed off 15 inches!!

I have also brought my hips down from 52 inches to 47 inches, a loss of 5 inches.  This makes my waist-to-hip ratio (42 divided by 47) 0.89 which was a shocking 1.09 when I started back in January.

15 inches off my waist impresses me more than the 4 lbs that I dropped this week.  I know why my weight dropped so much this week, as I had a fever on Tuesday and Wednesday and that’s what normally happens; I can lose about 2lbs if I have a fever; not a great diet tactic.  Usually if I lose weight due to having a fever the weight will come back on when I am better, let’s hope it doesn’t!

Another 9lbs and I’ll be at the halfway mark to my fat loss goal of 220lbs!

    Hi Irene,

Yep non-scale progress is more impressive to me. Thank you for your continual encouragement.

I haven’t forgotten about your fish recipe, my wife has written it out and all I have to do now is translate it into English, I should have it up within a few days.

    Take care,

Hi John, yep consistency is the key, I am not on a diet, I have changed my whole outlook on my eating, then the exercise is causing lots of changes and the results are exciting; this is what is keeping me consistent!

    Take care,
    Andrew

Almost halfway there? That’s such a great milestone for the mental game alone!

But you’re right – those fifteen inches are ridiculous! Nicely done!

    Hi Will,

Yeah I can’t wait to hit the halfway mark. Losing 2lbs a week at the start back in January (08) didn’t seem like much but now, it is just right, and it feels fast.

    Thanks for the encouragement Will!

    Take care,
    Andrew
